A distinctive half-timbered pub situated on the Outer Ring Road on the north-eastern side of the city. It claimed to be one of the oldest pubs in Birmingham, although obviously much extended and altered over the years. It closed in 2022 and was seriously damaged by fire earlier this month (November 2024).
Another of those big inter-wars Birmingham pubs in the Hall Green district on the east side of the city. It closed in 2019 and there are plans to convert it into a mosque, but it was in the news in January 2023 when the site was occupied by travellers.
Another handsome inter-wars Birmingham roadhouse standing on the Outer Ring Road on the eastern side of the city. It has since been demolished and replaced by a much larger block of flats with retail units on the ground floor.
