A familiar landmark on the main A49 road between Shrewsbury and Hereford, that gave its name to a railway junction and the small town that grew up around it. It has been closed for over three years, and plans have been submitted to convert the entire building to apartments.
An imposing Georgian building that has lain derelict for a number of years as various plans for its redevelopment have fallen through.
A large inter-wats pub on the west side of the town where planning permission has been granted for redevelopment of the site as 18 flats despite concerns about parking provision.
An attractive white-painted pub set back from the road on the north side of the town. Right opposite another pub of similar appearance called The Park. There are now plans to turn it into assisted living accommodation. It was still open when the most recent StreetView image was taken.
A roadside pub, now in a very poor state of repair, in this large former mining village on the western side of the Severn, which has a station on the Severn Valley Railway. Still open on the StreetView image, which I guess is quite a few years old. The wording on the gable end reads “The Turret Restaurant”. There is another pub tucked away off the road to the left called the Malt Shovel, which is still open.

A former coaching inn that once belonged to Greenall’s Wem subsidiary, situated in a Shropshire market town now subsumed within Telford. Later images on StreetView suggest that it has been converted to residential use.
This modern pub at the north end of the main street of this small Shropshire town has now been converted into a Co-op convenience store. Earlier images on StreetView show it still open as a pub.
A roadside pub on the B4176 between Dudley and Telford which is known locally at the “Rabbit Run”. Its closure back in 2011 was blamed on excessive rents from Marston’s: it doesn’t look as though it’s been open since then.
A substantial cream-painted pub facing a small square on the southern edge of the town centre that was previously Oswestry Conservative Club.

An imposing 1930s roadhouse that looks as though it might have doubled as a residential hotel. In the past was well-known for biker meets. It has been demolished in recent weeks.

A large roadside pub on the A41 south of Newport, that has obviously received considerable investment in the relatively recent past, but according to StreetView has been closed since at least 2009.
A distinctive Edwardian pub in an Arts and Crafts style standing on a busy crossroads halfway between the town centre and the station. It appears to have been converted to housing, but still carries some elements of Greenalls signage.

A substantial roadside pub with an unusual name, halfway between Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer. In the past it was popular for food, but now looks distinctly forlorn. The StreetView image seems to have been taken on a particularly dark day.
