A large 1930s pub located in a perhaps surprising back street location in this suburb to the east of Stoke-on-Trent. The eponymous station has closed, although the railway line is still in operation.
My grandparents ran this pub in 1938. My late mum described very happy times as a girl playing in the pub gardens where they kept free range hens and ducks. In WWII she slept in the cellar during air raids. So sad to see the state of the place here, glad she didn't get to see that.
