A large estate-type pub, dating from either the late 1930s or 1950s, on the main road from Romiley to Compstall and Marple Bridge. This is my own picture - it still shows as open on Google StreetView.
Thanks. It can be hard to date pubs of that era as those built in the 1950s were often fairly conservative in design. It is probably plainer than it would have been if built in the 1930s.
I see today that this pub has now been demolished and housing is being built on the site - a good thing I got the photo as a record.
