The Grapes
A small, landlocked street-corner pub in a pedestrianised shopping area. Note how, compared with the StreetView image, the lettering has been removed from the gable end. Photos taken on 14 February 2012, three days after the pub closed – Robinson’s didn’t mess about with removing their signage.

An oddly squashed-looking three-storey former Thwaites pub, still open on StreetView.

A modern estate pub in the shadow of a block of flats. Still looks just about open on StreetView.

A small pub in Newport’s run-down dockland area of Pill, shown on StreetView as replaced with modern housing.

A large pub close to the Abbey Hey Hotel in an off-the-beaten-track area of East Manchester. A banner still hanging on the wall says “Lots more choice!”

A small back-street pub to the west of the city centre. Not yet boarded up on StreetView, although the For Sale signs have appeared.

An impressive street-corner pub on the east side of the River Usk. The StreetView image shows it converted to flats.
The George
A typical small local pub in an area of terraced housing. This is another one that miraculously reopens as you move forward on StreetView.
The Abbey Hey Hotel
A long-closed former Bass pub off the beaten track in East Manchester, now in an advanced state of dereliction.
