A cottage-style inter-wars pub on the Droitwich Road on the north-eastern outskirts of the city, that most recently traded as a carvery. It has been closed since 2019, and plans by owners Stonegate to build guest accommodation on the former children’s play area have been rejected. It is just up the road from the Perdiswell House, so the demand for pub dining in this area would appear to have substantially reduced.
A large Harvester pub-restaurant on the main A38 Droitwich Road heading north out of the city. Planning permission has been applied for, although so far refused, to demolish it and replace it with a 78-bed care home.
A former Marston’s pub on the west bank of the Severn that for many years was a fixture in the Good Beer Guide. It is now described as an “eyesore” and there are controversial plans to replace it with a four-storey block of flats.
A substantial former hotel on the main street of this well-pubbed riverside town, where the boarding-up has been enhanced by paintings of rural scenes.
A Brewers’ Tudor pub close to the bridge over the Severn, now converted to a Tesco Express. Surely there was no lack of footfall in this prime tourist location.
A short-lived estate pub on the south-east side of the town, only built in the 1980s, but now planned for replacement by a care home.

A large roadside pub facing the River Avon on the south side of the town, still apparently trading in the 2015 StreetView image. The extensive site, including spacious car park, makes this a prime site for redevelopment.

Another massive inter-wars West Midlands roadhouse on the northern approach to Dudley. The site is now being redeveloped as an ALDI supermarket.
A modern estate-style pub in a mixed area south of the town centre that now looks very sorry for itself.
A pub in a rather tucked-away location near the Dudley Canal that featured a bar made from the bow of a narrow boat. Shown in the process of conversion to flats – there are several pictures of it as a pub on Pubs Then and Now.
A red colour-washed pub in a surprisingly leafy location just west of the town centre. Since the StreetView car went by an outhouse and a smoking shelter on the end have been demolished. And surely this is one of the best pub names around!
