A roadside pub in a sleepy village in the hills to the east of the Conwy valley.
A roadside pub in a sleepy village in the hills to the east of the Conwy valley.
A substantial pub-cum-hotel with an unusual name, owned by Greater Manchester family brewers J. W. Lees, in the centre of this small North Wales market town, which was once notorious as a traffic bottleneck on the A55.

Once a prominent landmark on the A5104 Chester-Corwen road, this pub closed in 2007, although it still looks in good condition on the 2009 StreetView image. The photo was taken in 2012 and it is now in a much sorrier state. There are plans to redevelop it as housing. In its latter days I recall it being owned by Hydes Brewery.
A substantial pub tucked away behind the Guildhall, that since the StreetView image has actually been brought back to life as the Guildhall Tavern. Situated very close to the still-closed Crown.
A once-popular destination pub, formerly tied to Greenalls, alongside the main A470 road in an attractive situation by the River Conwy. Still open on StreetView, and there are apparently plans to reopen it.
A substantial hotel in a pedestrianised area in the town centre, which has been closed and boarded for several years now. It looks less derelict on the 2009 StreetView image.
