The Wheatsheaf

The Wheatsheaf, Whitbourne, Herefordshire

An attractive white-painted roadside pub situated on the A44 between Worcester and Bromyard. An application has been made to convert it into a private house.

The Nell Gwynne

The Nell Gwynne, Hereford

A small corner pub with a rounded facade in a back street near the station, formerly called the British Oak. I stayed the night here on a CAMRA trip many years ago. It has since been converted to flats.

The Rosswyn

The Rosswyn, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire

A former small hotel in this picturesque market town, which also had a public bar and in the past featured in the Good Beer Guide.

(My own picture)

The Booth Hall

The Booth Hall, Hereford

The weeds are growing up in the outside drinking area of this impressive Georgian pub in a back street just off the city’s central square. Still open on StreetView.

The Ship

The Ship, Hereford

A 1930s pub on the busy St Martin’s roundabout south of the city centre. Note the distinctive West Country Breweries ceramic plaque to the left of the door.

The Stag

The Stag, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire

A basic back-street pub in this picturesque market town. I have memories of setting the world to rights in the back room over a few pints of cloudy cider. My recent photo – it still shows as open, although For Sale, on StreetView. Note the banner which says “Mike and Karrie welcome old & new customers to The Stag”.
