The Sandgate

The Sandgate, Swindon, Wiltshire

A post-war estate-style pub on the north-east side of the town, which was originally known as the Lady Margaret, but converted to a Thai restaurant called the Sandgate in 2004/05. It has now become The Threes day nursery.

The John Bull

The John Bull, Trowbridge, Wiltshire

A plain modern pub on a post-war housing estate on the west side of the town. Originally tied to local brewers Wadworth’s, but presumably it no longer fitted the desired profile of their estate.

The Viaduct

The Viaduct, Limpley Stoke, Wiltshire

A large Georgian pub built of Bath stone at the foot of a steep hill in the picturesque Avon valley.

The Beaufort Arms

The Beaufort Arms, Wootton Bassett, Wilts

A cottage-style pub, possibly 1930s from the look of it, near the long-closed station of a town that has been much in the news recently.
