The Lane Ends
A stone-built former Tetley pub high above Marple Bridge on the twisty road to Glossop. This is my recent photo – it still shows as open – and bathed in sunshine – on StreetView. The sign says that it is for sale by auction, and has planning permission for conversion to a four-bedroomed home.
The Britannia
A brightly-painted pub at the bottom of Scarborough’s main street near the harbour. Still shows as open on StreetView – I would be surprised if it stayed closed indefinitely in this location.

A modern estate-type pub in an area of inner-city redevelopment just off Oldham Road.

A monumental former Shipstone’s pub right opposite Nottingham Station that is now a fireplace showroom.
The Ash Hotel
An impressive redbrick Edwardian pub that was reported as having a smoke-in on its last night of trading. My picture again – it still shows as open on StreetView.
This pub has now re-opened as "The Ash Tea Rooms" - an apparently unlikely venture in this location!
