Recording the slow, sad death of the British pub
A small former Marston’s pub just off the town centre on the main road to Chapel-en-le-Frith. The proximity of Buxton’s Wetherspoon’s may have contributed to its demise.
When I took a picture in 2011 (See http://www.philwieland.com/postcard/s/sb1.html near the bottom of the page.) the sign said PRINCE OF ALES, a rather good name for a pub, I thought.(Let me know if you want a full resolution version of my shot.)
This pub use to be our client a few years ago.
Now in use as a Funeral Palour wih two flats above
