The George IV

The George IV, Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire

A stone-built pub on the Kirkstall Road with an added “Banker’s Classical” facade. This must be quite a rare pub name compared with the simple “George”.

The Church

The Church, Bolton, Lancs

A former Tetley’s pub on a street corner site in an industrial area near to Bolton station.

The New Inn

The New Inn, Bury, Lancs

A second closed New Inn in the town, this time a former Wilsons’ house on the old main road to Rochdale.

The Cherry Tree

The Cherry Tree, Romiley, Cheshire

A large estate-type pub, dating from either the late 1930s or 1950s, on the main road from Romiley to Compstall and Marple Bridge. This is my own picture - it still shows as open on Google StreetView.
