The Rising Sun

The Rising Sun, Shraley Brook, Staffs

An attractive, white-painted pub on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border that once enjoyed a reputation as a multi-beer free house and also for a while brewed its own beer. Although closed for some years it retains its pub appearance.

  1. Bugger! Used to go here :o(
They used to make their own beer: 1020 - The Rising. 1040 - The Setting. 1080 - Total Eclipse. The landlord would only serve you one total eclipse unless you could prove you were not going to drive.

  6. A favourite of my Dad's on the Sunday afternoon spin over to his shop in Crew to pick up the Weekend takings!!
He'd alternate between the White Lion's (Weston and Barrhomley) or occasionally the Gorstey Hall which some young Greek/Cypriot guy had taken over...Happy Days!!
